With 3 ties and 3 overtime losses, in the last 7 games, the Sting needed to get 2 points or risk falling back into the pack in the C1 East standings. With the last regulation loss coming at the hands of the Sled Dogs, this game looked to be a huge challenge.

In the first period, it looked like the Sled Dogs were going to take the game outshooting the Sting 13-9. It would be early in the second period before they would break the scoreless tie with a screen shot just inside the post.

But as the game went on, the Sting gained steam, and later in the second, equalized with a goal from Marlin, his first this season. Early in the third, Kent followed his son's lead, scoring on the powerplay. The 2-1 score would hold to the end of the game.

Getting 2 points and some revenge against the Sled Dogs allows the Sting to maintain a 2 win advantage over 5th place with 5 games to go. The next game is on February 26th at 9:10pm in Braemar E against the Rack Attack.
