Angels make it three in a row

by JJ Glover on June 25th

After three 3-2 losses in a row, the Angels are trying to make their case that they belong at the top of the standings. The Powder Rivers team is another test of how good this team is.

From the beginning of the game it was clear that both teams had upped their tempo for this matchup. The Angels were able to hold Powder River to just 4 shots on goal while taking 10 shots of their own. With 5 minutes left in the period, J. Bouchard places a shot past C. Soderquist to give the Angels the lead.

Powder Rivers wouldn't get outshot for the rest of the game. Three minutes into the second, B. Logan would tie the game 1-1 on a puck that wasn't able to be controlled in the crease. However, the Angels would answer back with 3 minutes to go in the frame as C. Nichols scores to make it 2-1.

In the third, Powder Rivers would own the most attack time of the period, outshooting the Angels 14-8 and getting a 2-man advantage late in the game. However, none of the 14 shots would find the back of the net as the Angels stand tall and win the game with a 2-1 final.

The Angels will try and make it 4 in a row against the Bayonets on Monday as all of level 4 takes a second lap through the opposition.
