In the season opener, the Bulldogs were able to keep the Spitfire offense off the scoresheet until late in the third period. The second game against the Sharks started of a bit differently. The Sharks were able to get a jump on running their offense in the first period. Halfway through the period, C. Flachmeyer was able to place a shot just over the glove of Bulldogs goalie J. Glover to open the scoring. M. Koss would follow up with another goal for the Sharks just three minutes later. However, the Sharks would struggle to keep up their offensive pressure for the rest of the game. The Bulldogs responded with a goal from J. Anderson to bring the score back to 1-2 before the end of the period. In the second period, the Bulldogs continued to push back. 5 minutes into the period, B. Libby was able to tie the game 2-2. 45 seconds later, B. Hillstead was able to complete the comeback and give the Bulldogs the lead. The rest of the game would see both teams get an even number of chances, but both goalies up to the task, keeping the final score to a 3-2 victory for the Bulldogs. The victory keeps the Bulldogs undefeated in the 2021 season. The next challenge comes up next Saturday against the Rebellion.
