Its been an emotional roller coaster between the one goal losses, the ties, and a crushing defeat at the hands of the Troopers. Just once the Bulldogs could use an easier game on the soul.
After the first period against Shame On Ice, it looked like things might finally go the Bulldogs way.
B. Hillstead got things started just 11 seconds into the first period with a feed from A. Miller to score his third goal of the year. Halfway through the period, A. Miller followed up with an end-to-end goal, followed by a goal from R. Babcock just over a minute later to put the team up 3-0 over Shame On Ice.
A. Miller followed up that performance with another goal in the second period to keep the game out of reach. The Bulldogs had control of the shots in this period 12-7 to keep up the momentum.
Shame On Ice were able to get the majority of the chances in the third period. However, only one of their 15 shots in the frame would find the back of the net off the stick of K. Ryk. The Bulldogs K. Gardner would end up putting the lead back to four just a minute and a half later and the score would stay at 5-1 as the final.
The game was a sigh of relief more than anything that this season would be a tightrope disaster and that the team was capable of putting a team away convincingly. Despite the losses, the team is still trying to stay within striking distance of the last playoff spot and make a run in the second half.
