The Bulldogs were hoping to string some wins together after a nice victory against Shame On Ice. With a log jam of teams just trying to keep pace of 4th place, every point looks like it will be an important one as the playoff race ramps up.
The Mosquitoes got the jump on the Bulldogs in the first two periods of this game. B. Jacobs would start the scoring for the insects with a powerplay goal in the first. C. Ward and T. Sackett would build on that lead in the second period to create a 3-0 advantage. The Mosquitoes also held a 28-18 shot advantage through two periods.
In the third, the Bulldogs offense came alive with some help of the powerplay. A. McCann scores first with 11 minutes remaining with a feed from S. Swanson and A. Miller. Its the first powerplay goal for the team this season. E. Soler would contribute the second powerplay goal of the game and the season three minutes later to bring the game to 3-2. The Mosquitoes go on the counterattack with T. Sackett scoring his second of the game to push the lead to 4-2. The Bulldogs would counter just a minute later with a shorthanded goal from A. McCann, also his second.
Sadly for the Bulldogs, this is where the flurry of goals ends as the third period rally comes up short and the game ends with a final of 4-3...another close loss. The Bulldogs aren't out of the race for the playoffs by any means, but time is starting to run out on the season.
