After the score fest of the last game, the Muckers find themselves in another defensive battle.
In the first, the Muckers would find themselves with a 13-9 shot and 1 power play advantage. However, it would be a breakaway by C. Ward at the end of the period that would put the Pigeons on top.
It would start a push by the Pigeons in the second period as they would put up 18 shots to the Muckers 9. A. Petrella would find the back of the net two and a half minutes into the second. But that would be all the damage the Pigeons would be able to manage. S. Gellner brings one back for the Muckers courtesy of a power play and a slap pass from M. Lehman half way through the second.
With the game 2-1 heading into the third, both teams would get their chances to add to the lead or tie the game, but the score would remain 2-1 throughout the third as M. Scholl would turn away all 9 third period chances. S. Cloutier would add an empty net goal to seal the game for the Pigeons, 3-1.
The Muckers find themselves 2-2 after 4 games with their next game against the Baggers in Richfield on Sunday after the Independence Day Break.
