The Sting offense was finally able to generate some scoring chances and keep up with an opposing teams offense, but the goals just weren't there in an always close rivalry matchup against the Lakers.
Both teams were trading scoring chances in the first period and both teams would come out empty handed as both Fleischhacker and Glover kept the score 0-0. It took until 6 minutes in the second period to break open the scoring as the Lakers B. Sorock was able to bank a sharp angle shot off of the Sting goalie's skate and in the net. Sorock would add to the lead 5 minutes later on a 2-on-1 opportunity. The Sting response was just a minute later with Andy McCann scoring his first goal of the year.
However, that would be the only mistake the Lakers goalie would make as Fleischhacker was dialed in. He would end up making 38 saves on 39 shots. Sorock would get his hat trick in the third as he fires a low wrist shot through a screen and into the net just two minutes into the third period.
That would do it for the scoring as the game ends 3-1 Lakers. The Sting are now 0-3-1 and are in last place in the division. Defensively the team is in the top half, stopping 90.32% of shots, but the offense is only scoring on 8% of their shots taken. The Sting's next game is against the 1-2-1 Fighting Piranhas on November 26th at Breck.
