All throughout the Summer Season, the Sting have a tendency to get outshot by wide margins and yet stay in the game and steal some others. The Winter Sting are starting to show similar signs. The Sting were outshot again in every period of this game and have yet to lead in shots in any given period.
The Spitfires were able to get on the board first with a goal from S. Longen half way into the first period. The Sting were able reply 4 minutes later with a goal from Ed Soler.
It became all Spitfires after that. Goals from Basile, Amberson, and Remick in the late first and second periods put the Spitfires out front for good with a 4-1 lead. The Sting's Chad Andersen was able to bring the Sting back to 4-2 before the end of the second period. However, the Sting weren't able to get a puck past C. Rognlie in the third. The goalie finished the day stopping 36 of 38 shots to get the win.
Next up for the Sting
