In the first period it looked like the Sting would be able to hold on against the vaunted Sota Hill offense, taking it 1-2 into the end of the first.
As it turned out, Sota Hill was just getting warmed up.
Sota Hill's A. Hauptil opened the scoring in the first with a pair of goals. The Sting's Todd Chrun was able to add a goal of his own to keep the Sting close.
Sota Hill's offense began lighting it up in the second and third period, outshooting the Sting 40-21. D. Bonjean added 2 goals of his own as the C1 West leaders put up 6 more goals while shutting out the Sting. The final score would end up 8-1 for Sota Hill.
The Sting hope to get back to C1 competition against the Royals next Sunday.
